Bloodbath at varsity
Soon after the beginning of New Year, new terrible wave of terror ostensibly goes on a trajectory path. Three alternate gory incidents occurred starting from Quetta to Peshawar-Khyber Agency median and now Bacha Khan University Charsadda. These intermittent tragedies are indictment about the fact that the war against terror is far from over.
After APS Peshawar ordeal, terrorists’ infiltration inside the university premises speaks volumes about good governance being boasted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. Government officials must be made accountable about the measures they were supposed to take to avert this kind of tragedy.
This fresh and unfortunate event also speaks little about the organisational underpinnings of Pakistan army’s offensive against militant outfits in northern areas. Apparently, partisans are capable of undertaking heinous crimes without any significant state’s aversion. COAS needs to look thoroughly what went wrong after initial imperious inception of operation.
Attacks on educational institutions should be discouraged by all means. Given that Pakistan has already 25 million children out of school and that majority of institutions spreading substandard education. These types of attacks would further dispirit students.
