Body formed for teacher transfers

LAHORE - The ban lifting on transfers of teachers might be delayed as the Chief Minister has constituted a committee to give recommendations.

The committee comprise all the stake holders including the teachers, representatives of the school education and others.

The School Education department a couple of days back moved the summary to the CM Office that the ban on transfers be lifted so that the teachers could be transferred as per the government policy.

“The CM office instead of approving it moved it to the CS Punjab office for further comments” said the sources.

The committee will submit its comments on the file and the summary will again be moved to the CM Office for approval to lift the ban, the sources said.
An official said that the Punjab government wanted transfers and postings on merit as it made fresh appointments of thousands of educators on merit.
He said that no transfer would be made for teachers teaching at schools already facing deficiency of educators.
