CM interviews aspirant vice chancellorsLahore

Lahore - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday interviewed the search committee-recommended candidates for the appointment of vice chancellors of four Public Sector Universities.

The CM Office will forward the recommendations to the chancellor( the governor) for final approval.
The Higher Education Department will issue notification for the appointment of VCs that is subject to the court decision.

Sources said that the Dr Shahida Husnain, Dr Rukhsana Kausar and Dr Uzma Quraishi were candidates for the LCWU, Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dr Zakria Zakir and Dr Moeen Zafar for Punjab University, Dr Tahir Kamran, Dr Ishtiaq and Dr Moeen Zafar for University of Sargodha, Dr Shahid Munir, Dr Ejaz and Dr Zubair Ahmad for Multan Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology.
Senior officers of the HED and HEC were also present on the occasion.

teachers training: Education Minister, Rana Mashhood has said that the biggest programme of teachers training is being started in Punjab through best companies of the world working in education sector including University of London.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held with regard to provision of quality education, here Saturday.

The minister said that Education Department Punjab was working vigorously for achieving the targets of harmonizing educational syllabus with modern demands, properly monitoring performance of male and female students and training of teachers for ensuring quality education in educational institutions.

A consultative company Aitken of Bahrain gave a detailed briefing for ensuring quality education in educational institutions working under the control of Punjab government.
Senior officials of School Education and Higher Education attended the meeting.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed told the participants that after reviewing in detail the model of teachers' training in England during his recent visit to Britain, on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, dialogues were held with the officials of University of London and MoU was signed.

He said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, training of teachers who are backbone of educational system is very vital.

Rana Mashhood said that British Council has also been taken on board for training of teachers.
He said that after final approval of Chief Minister Punjab, this project of quality education will be started in education sector.
